Andretti Short Track Terre Haute

Mother Nature decided to cooperate with Terre Haute so we could finally get a race in; after 7 straight rain outs at Terre Haute, it had been a year since we raced there so I was excited to try some things with the car. The night started off well with a good pill draw and then we laid down a lap good enough for 3rd quick overall; that would line us up starting 6th in the 3rd heat. We didn’t seem to tighten the car up enough and struggled, ending up 7th. That would put us starting 2nd in the B-Main where we would end up 3rd, transferring us into the feature. In the feature, we tried a couple of things we had never done before and it seemed to really help the car. We struggled on the late race restarts and after trying the bottom with 2 to go, we lost a couple spots and ended up 13th. It wasn’t a finish that showed our true speed but I am excited about what we learned and look forward to applying it when we go back there in October.
Night 2 of the weekend took us further south towards Cinncinati to Lawrenceburg Speedway. The night didn’t start well, drawing the #74 pill out of 75 possible pills. That lined us up 6th in the 4th heat. Unfortunately, we had some pretty good cars in front of us and we were only able to get to 3rd, which would line us up starting 12th in the feature. We were pretty aggressive on the set up and we were able to get to 4th, but starting 12th was way too far back. On the positive side, we were the Hard Charger for the night and we will take that momentum into Bloomington on Friday!
