Six Events highlight
Labor Day weekend |
The September 2-3, at Calistoga Speedway will host the
"10th Annual Louie Vermeil Classic." Promoted by HMC
Promotions, the event honors the former NARC director and will also have
a vintage car show, driver autograph session, raffle, wine tasting,
silent auction, and a beer garden for fans to enjoy. The USAC Western
Midget Series event will pay $10,000 to win each feature. The AMSOIL USAC/CRA
Sprint Cars and Vintage Cars will share the
spotlight. NEMA and the NEMA Lites
continue on Saturday with the "Iron Mike Scrivani Memorial" at
New Hampshire's Monadnock Speedway. Randy Cabral leads Jim Chambers by 37-points,
with three events remaining. Three Montpelier
Midget Series events remain including Saturday's event at Montpelier
Motor Speedway. Logan Arnold holds a 26-point lead over Chase Jones.
An open competition midget
race will be held Sunday at Kokomo Speedway as part of the Vince Osman
Season Champion. The twelfth race of the season at Valley Speedway is
slated for Saturday feature the Lucas Oil All Star POWRi Midget
Series. |

won the Aug. 26 BCRA event at the Dirt Track at Stockton Speedway.

Faccinto;
Shebester; McIntosh; Garrett feature winners | Michael Faccinto scored
a clean sweep winning the BCRA event at the Stockton Dirt Track. Faccinto
finished ahead of Scott Pierovich, Alex Schutte, BCRA points leader Maria
Cofer, and Danny Carroll.
Popular BCRA driver J.R. Williams
was involved in a serious accident on his trip home when another driver
crossed the highway centerline and struck JR's truck just behind the
driver's door. JR's truck and trailer were both demolished, but
thankfully JR was unhurt. Tragically one of the occupants in the other
car lost his life in the accident. Williams plans to be at the next BCRA
event Sept. 7.
The Lucas Oil POWRi West Midget
League ran a doubleheader "The MO-KAN Shootout". Friday night
at Kansas's Humboldt Speedway Steven Shebester finished ahead of Wesley
Smith, series points leader Grady Chandler, Matt Moore and Cannon
McIntosh. The following evening at Springfield Speedway McIntosh scored
his first career feature victory. Following McIntosh were: Kory Schudy,
Joe B Miller, Tucker Klaasmeyer, and Shebester.
Carson Garrett scored his first
career feature victory topping the 18-car field for the Rocky Mountain
Midget Series at El Paso County Raceway. Glenn Waterland, Zach Taylor,
Paul Babich, and Bob Harr completed the top five. No results have been
yet been received from Kokomo Speedway for the Aug. 26 event at the
track. |
